It is with a very heavy heart that we share with all of you that Chance passed away this morning at 9 am. He defied the odds to survive for exactly 9 years and 2 days, and blessed us every day that we knew could be his last. He taught us to leave aside our worries of tomorrow, to gallop at every opportunity, and to stop and sniff every flower we see, even as we go about the business of our everyday lives. Our love and thoughts are with every child who knew and loved Chance, and thank every parent who has allowed Chance to be part of their children’s lives. A Chance in the Country will continue to honor his memory.
Dear friends, Chance is recovering from surgery for a displaced colon at NCSU ‘ S Veterinary Hospital. He went in Monday night and surgery was performed Tuesday morning. The medical team, including surgeons and students, have been amazing, and we appreciate them so much as they have saved Chance ‘ s life many times over the years. He ate grass today and is recovering well. Please keep Chance in your prayers as he continues to build his strength, and also say thanks for the friends, vets, students and volunteers who care for him there and at home. Chance is so blessed to have so many people like you all who care for him
